Project Brief
The City of Tucson was facing increasing challenges related to public safety, vandalism, and unauthorized access across its municipal buildings, parks, transit hubs, and downtown areas. Their existing infrastructure lacked the coverage and responsiveness needed to address these concerns effectively. City leaders required a modern solution that could provide real-time visibility across multiple districts, integrate with existing emergency systems, and withstand the harsh desert climate. They needed a system that could scale with the city’s growth, offer centralized monitoring across departments, and deliver reliable performance in both high-traffic and remote areas. The goal was to create a unified security network that would not only deter incidents but also empower faster response and long-term operational efficiency.
Our Solution
To meet Tucson’s ambitious security goals, our team designed and deployed a citywide surveillance network consisting of over 450 high-definition cameras. These were strategically installed across municipal buildings, public parks, transit stations, and key intersections to ensure comprehensive coverage and eliminate blind spots. We began with a full site assessment to identify priority zones and infrastructure limitations. Our engineers developed a layered security architecture that included pole-mounted PTZ cameras for wide-area visibility, fixed dome cameras for entrances and gathering spaces, and license plate recognition systems at critical access points. Connectivity was ensured through a secure combination of fiber and wireless backhaul, allowing for uninterrupted data transmission across the network. At the heart of the system is a centralized command center that enables real-time monitoring, intelligent analytics, and rapid alerting. The platform was integrated with Tucson’s existing emergency response systems, allowing law enforcement and city officials to coordinate more effectively during incidents. We also provided hands-on training and ongoing technical support to ensure the city could manage and expand the system confidently. Today, Tucson benefits from enhanced situational awareness, reduced incidents, and a scalable security infrastructure that supports its vision for a safer, smarter city.
