Security & Low Voltage Technician

Oculens is seeking a Security & Low Voltage Technician to spearhead the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of cutting-edge physical security and low voltage systems. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires exceptional technical skills, proven field experience, and a high level of professionalism when interfacing with both clients and internal teams.

What You Will Do

  • Wire, terminate, and dress access control head-end panels to maintain a clean and professional layout.

  • Install and commission systems including:

    • Video surveillance

    • Access Control

    • Intrusion detection

    • Intercoms

    • Structured cabling and other low voltage infrastructure

  • Interpret floor plans and wiring diagrams to ensure proper installation and documentation.

  • Install a wide range of door hardware and access control components, including:

    • Magnetic locks, door strikes, panic devices, vertical rods, mortise and cylindrical locks, transfer hinges, auto operators, and more.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience installing and commissioning:

    • Access control

    • Intrusion detection

    • IP video surveillance

    • Intercom and structured cabling systems

  • Working knowledge of and/or certification in one or more of the following platforms is preferred:

    • Verkada, Lenel, Brivo, Avigilon, RS2, Hanwha, Bosch, Axis, IPro (Panasonic), ASSA Abloy, Allegion

  • Strong understanding of ANSI/BICSI standards, NEC, and relevant low voltage codes.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus.

  • Capable of lifting and transporting up to 75 lbs.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.

  • Flexibility to adjust to varying work schedules to meet customer timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with door hardware installation (e.g., maglocks, electric strikes, crash bars).

  • Familiarity with pulling and terminating Cat6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.

  • Ability to bend and install conduit (EMT, PVC) for low-voltage pathways.

  • Comfortable using test equipment like cable certifiers, multimeters, and tone generators.

  • Experience working on ladders, lifts, or bucket trucks for elevated installations.

  • Knowledge of fire alarm pre-wire or device installation.

  • Experience coordinating with electricians, general contractors, or IT teams on job sites.

  • Manufacturer certifications or factory training from major security brands.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
